Who Should Choose A Halogen Oven?

Why Choose A Halogen Oven?

vonshef halogen oven plus accessoriesHalogen ovens have many benefits. These include:

  • Fast
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clean
  • Versatile
  • Healthy
  • Economical

In short, they really have something to offer everyone – no matter what kind of chef/cook they may be. However, if it’s not immediately obvious how a halogen oven might benefit you, see if you can find yourself in the list below.

Time Starved Chef

If you’re a time starved chef – or even if you’re just starving – a halogen oven is absolutely ideal for you. The combination of infrared and convection heating means that you can cook meals super fast – up to three times faster than a normal oven.

Of course, you can heat things up fast in a microwave – but there’s a difference between cooking something fast and heating it up fast. You’ll also be able to cook many types of food in your halogen oven that you wouldn’t normally dream of putting in the microwave.

Learner Chef

learner chefHalogen ovens are incredibly easy to use. You just put the food in, set the timer, set the temperature and then come back when it pings.

There’s no need to worry about how long something has been in, the oven will switch itself off when it’s done.

If you’re trying new things, and, of course, everything’s a new thing when you’re learning, being able to see your food cooking (nicely) through the side of the glass bowl without having to open the oven and modify the temperature is a real plus point. You’ll soon get the hang of things with a halogen oven.

Forgetful Chef

We’ve all done it; got home from a long day at work and realized that we forgot to defrost those steaks, that chicken or those burgers for our evening meal. You can zap the beejeezus (and the goodness) out of your food in the microwave and defrost it that way – or you can just take it straight from the freezer and put it into your halogen oven.

Check out this short video which shows how easy and fast it is to cook perfect steaks in a halogen oven – straight from frozen:

Lazy Chef

If you sometimes struggle to find the energy or motivation to get busy in the kitchen then a halogen oven is just perfect for you. Pop something in, set the timer and the temperature and then get on with some serious relaxation until the oven pings. Make sure to choose a model with a loud alarm – just in case you doze off.

When you’re done cooking and eating, cleaning up is just as easy. All that you have to do is add a little water and detergent and select the self clean setting – or just pop the bowl right into your dishwasher. There’s certainly no need to get out a collection of cleaning chemicals and start scrubbing (and inhaling fumes).

Adventurous Chef

If you like to mix things up a bit in the kitchen, quite literally on occasion no doubt, then why limit yourself with a kitchen appliance that can only cook certain types of dishes?

Your halogen oven can bake, broil, air fry, steam and generally cook just about any dish that you can think of – and a few that you have yet to learn about probably.

Whether you want roast poultry, cook stews, steam fish, rice and vegetables, bake bread, cookies and biscuits – or just heat up a frozen pizza, a halogen oven is the ideal kitchen appliance for you.

Thrifty Chef

There’s a distinct difference between being thrifty and being mean – although not everyone appreciates it. When it comes to economy, halogen ovens have a couple of things going for them.

While the glass bowl is big enough to let you cook a large chicken, or even a turkey with the extender ring in place, it’s still a lot smaller than your main oven. Add in the fact that you cook things a lot faster and you can see that halogen ovens will, quite naturally, use much less energy than your main oven.

Max power for these ovens is typically somewhere between 1200 – 1400 W, although you won’t often use that much energy as you won’t use the maximum temperature setting very often. A standard oven will have a max power of around 3500 W – so less power and faster cooking time means a lot less energy used. It will depend on your existing oven and your style of cooking to some extent, but a saving in energy usage of around about 75% should be fairly typical.

And of course, being energy-efficient is environmentally friendly. Come to think of it, you’re not being tight-fisted – you’re an eco warrior!

So halogen ovens really do work well in any family kitchen Рregardless of what kind of chef you consider yourself to be. Have a look at the range of inexpensive halogen ovens on oven and see which one suits you best.
